Best Tablet for Kids
In our home we own almost every game system (and of course their pairing games) and we know tablets, remote controlled toys and we love building with electronics as well. Here we have made what we like to think of as a WISH LIST of tablets for children of any age. It's fun reviewing and comparing products because we truly enjoy getting the best deal and the best entertainment. Here you will find learning tablets for young children and high speed, wi-fi tablets for older more advanced kids. Children can benefit greatly from good electronics. If you want to buy the best tablet for kids, here is the 2014 shopping list for the top tablet for kids.
#1 PICK - Kindle Fire
I have a 6 year old and an 11 year old and we bought them both the same tablet and it's perfect for their needs. The Kindle Fire HD is by far the best tablet for kids. Read books, play games, watch movies and do everything kids do for a fraction of the cost compared to the iPad and Androids. Speed wise, it's 40% faster on average than the other tablets too. Even the Leapster and Innovtab cost around a hundred dollars and you still have to buy the games, I'm telling you the Kindle Fire HD is the best tablet for kids, it'a available in a larger screen for around a hundred dollars more but the 7" works amazing.
My daughter loves her Kindle. She got it for Christmas this past year from us because she really wanted a tablet. She kept asking for an iPad but honestly, $500 is a lot to spend on a girl her age. I did my research and found that the Kindle Fire HD was comparable to the iPad in so many ways. After doing all my homework on both devices we found that Kindle Fire HD fit our needs more than the iPad did.
The two main reasons we choose the Kindle Fire HD was 1) we like the price tag versus the iPad and 2) we liked that it hooked directly to my Amazon Prime account. I had free movies, books, magazines and other apps connected directly to my already existing Amazon account. I was never a fan of iTunes and the Apple store so this was good news.
Samantha was very happy with our choice and she uses that tablet for everything and it goes everywhere with us. I pay for a mobile hotspot because we travel a lot of our business, it's nice because she can use the wifi on the go and read, watch movies, play games and more.
Best Tablets for Kids 2015
VTech InnoTab2 Tablet (ages 3 and under): Kids are smart, their intuitive and they naturally gravitate towards electronics. No, I don't think that three years old is too young to play with this tablet. This tablet is perfect for a three year old. My nephew Caleb is three years old and he finds his way around on my iPad, and he's your normal every day kid. This tablet is kid friendly and has apps that are for learning, just what a 3 year old would need. This tablet would be great for a four year old as well, but buying it for 3 years of age and under is best to get some use out of it before they get too much older and want more exciting things like we have featured. Fuhu Nabi (ages 5 and under): What I love about this particular tablet is that it has safe kiddie web browsing and all sorts of fun games and application directed at early learning development. Kids love having their own electronics but it can be hard deciding which ones are appropriate for their ages. I know this because I am mom and aunt. I buy gifts all the time for my large family so I'm always looking for the perfect toy and I hate wasting my money, so I do research. This tablet entertains a child 5 years old and under. Any older and I would buy something a little more advanced such as the Kindle Fire. But for a 5 year old, even 6 year old, this tablet is great. The reason I put a cap on it at 5 years old is so that there is time to enjoy it before your child grows out of it. It's a great tablet with tons of fun games and that safe internet browsing that you desire. Check Price on Amazon
Kindle Fire HD: I cannot say enough about this tablet, this tablet is the absolute best, I think it's more awesome than the iPad but I'm biased with android devices. I like Android because it's compatible with everything, iPad is only compatible with Apple products and that doesn't suite our lifestyle (but it may yours). This particular tablet is fabulous because it has everything you want in a tablet. Browse the web easily (yes, there are parental controls), download your favorite apps, read all your favorite books, listen to music and do it all 40% faster than the iPad. We have three of these in our home, you may think that is excessive but we have a 6 year old boy and an 11 year old girl and then of course I needed one for my books and things too. What I love about this is that it hooks up directly to my Amazon Prime account so I get free movies, free books and instant access to the world's largest retail that I trust. I work online (obviously) so having access to the web and my apps is very important to my lifestyle. If you want an Android tablet for yourself or your child 6 years or older, then this is the tablet for you. It's priced at just under $200 so it's a great price for all you get. Compare it to the iPad and see what I'm talking about. There are cases available for the Kindle Fire so that you can protect your investment. Kids can be brutal, so teach them to be careful with their electronics and definitely buy a case and screen cover. There is a protective warranty available if you think your child will destroy it but honestly, I have a 6 year old boy (BOY) and he's had his for a while with no issue what so ever. It's built tough and made to last. It's definitely one of the best electronics for kids in my honest opinion. I put my money where my mouth is on this one, both my kids own one. iPad Mini: Okay, this is the tablet for the Apple fans who have kids in my opinion. It's also got a smaller screen than the original making it a better e-reader in my opionion. Reading on large screens is a bit much. If you want to get your kids an iPad but don't want to spend the $500 that they cost, this is a great choice. It's smaller, lighter and best of all CHEAPER. Kids want their own tablets and it's understandable why, there is so much to do with them, they are so universal and engaging. Kids love interacting electronics. This iPad Mini is great for kids. It's more advanced than a kids tablet of course like the InnoTab, Meep, Etc. I would say it's very comparable to the Kindle Fire HD. It's perfect for kids that are a little older, a little more responsible. Ages 6 years and up would be my age recommendation for something as advanced as this. Kids are smart, they know their way around these toys better than most adults. Don't forget to buy a durable case though. Check Price on Amazon
