Fine Jewelry Cabinets and Armoires for Women
Keep your jewelry from getting ruined, tarnished, scratched or lost with a jewelry cabinet, armoire or box. These make great gifts for women, especially moms and wives who have a lot of jewelry.
Powell Woodland Oak Jewelry Armoire
This lovely oak finished jewelry armoire features two smaller drawers and two larger drawers, all fully lined. The top drawer has 9 small slots for rings or other pieces. There are five drawers total, all fully lined to keep your jewelry from fading or tarnishing.
The top of this jewelry armoire has a jewelry box with a lid that lifts up and has a mirror and space for smaller jewelry pieces. The sides open up in four places, two shorter doors and two longer doors open up and are fully padded with hooks for necklaces.
This is the most fabulous piece, with its traditional "Queen Anne" style legs with half column posts. It stands 40-inches high and opens up 30-inches wide. There's a place for everything and more (hint, hint).
Which is Best?
Jewelry Boxes: boxes are smaller units usually kept on the dresser or bathroom counter for quick and easy access to your favorite pieces of jewelry. Jewelry boxes are great for girls and ladies with less than 20 pieces of jewelry.
Jewelry Cabinets: cabinets are great because they hang on the wall or over the door, some have mirrors on the front that serve two purposes. Getting dressed with one of these jewelry cabinets is great because everything is organized and kept nicely in front of you so you can see everything you have at once. Cabinets like these can hold a lot of pieces of jewelry they just lack deeper drawers which some of us prefer. Some ladies jewelry cabinets are self standing mirrors that don't need a wall mount or door to hang on, those are great if you are looking for a dressing mirror because they serve a dual purpose as well.
Jewelry Armoires: armoires are self standing units that can hold a lot of jewelry. These are perfect for women with a lot of jewelry they need to keep protected from getting scratched, tarnished or lost. Having armoire is nice because they can hold so much more than a cabinet or a jewelry box. You can have drawer space and room to hang things up like necklaces. I personally prefer the armoire but I have a lot of jewelry and more space to have a self standing piece of furniture like this in my bedroom.
Things to Keep in Mind
Lining: any cabinet, jewelry box or armoire you purchase needs to have a lining inside to protect from scratching and tarnishing. All areas of the box, cabinet or armoire need to have a soft lining in it if jewelry is going to be touching the surface. Velvet is the best lining for the inside of a cabinet, but there are many cheaper substitutes that will work as well.
Organization: any ladies jewelry box, cabinet or armoire needs to have a place for different things. The best ones have slots of rings and earrings, drawers for bracelets and hooks for necklaces.
Space having a jewelry box, cabinet or armoire that fits your space needs is also important because you don't want to buy something that's too small. Leave yourself some room so your boyfriend or husband can buy you some MORE!
Size: you need a jewelry box, cabinet or armoire that is going to fit in your room or on your dresser without being an eyesore to the rest of the room. There are boxes that have tons of space or you can upgrade to a hanging wall cabinet or armoire if you have the room for it.
